Meet VFS’s Industry Makeup Design Faculty
VFS Makeup Design Instructors Elissa Frittaion and Amy Van Wormer will explain how VFS launches your career as a Makeup Artist. VFS’s Makeup program has created artists that have won 68 IMATS, 9 Leos, over a dozen Emmys, and even the SYFY competition reality series Face Off. In 2023, our alum Darla Edin was Emmy-nominated for her work on Daisy Jones & the Six. These accolades are no fluke; find out why!
Experience a Live Prosthetic Transformation
Watch in real-time throughout the event as VFS Makeup Artists apply prosthetics to TWO different subjects and get a detailed look at the products they’re using. The big reveal happens at the end of the day; witness the dichotomy of good vs. evil in the form of mystical fairies. You’ll also get to view a video demo on staining teeth and see the terrifying effects that this process has on an actor (something right out of the likes of Evil Dead)!
Production Makeup Show & Tell
VFS’s Makeup department will “show & tell” the prosthetics, life casts, molds, masks, wigs, hairpieces, etc. that you'll use in the program, allowing you to take a close look at a variety of industry-standard tools the professionals use. You’ll also take a look at the official VFS Makeup Kit – your essential starter kit that you receive as part of your tuition on Day 1 at VFS.
Your Personal Portfolio Review
The final portion of the event will be dedicated to portfolio reviews with our faculty. Don’t be shy! The VFS Makeup department is looking forward to reviewing your work – anything on your phone or in a physical portfolio that illustrates your passion for makeup design. You’ll also have the chance to view past student work to see what you could achieve at VFS.
Experience All That the Makeup Program Offers
VFS’s industry-leading program trains makeup artists in a full-immersion studio environment to tell stories through production makeup – all in just 12 months. Learn how VFS trains you faster than any other school so that you can join the industry and be part of a Makeup alumni that’s worked on Oppenheimer, The Last of Us, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and more.
RSVP today. Limited spots are available.
